Jake and Jess took great care of our 4 month old golden retriever who came to them with typical, but stress causing puppy behavior. Barking, jumping, pulling on leash, chewing everything, nipping and constant energy that never shut down. He spent 3 weeks learning so many things but mostly how to be an enjoyable puppy! They updated regularly throughout the week with pictures and texts. We are so grateful for their help. Some of the biggest things we’ve noticed is he’s now able to sit with us and not bite our hands/feet, we can walk through the house without him biting our clothes, he’s calm in the crate during the day, walks perfect on the leash, doesn’t react to our 4 year old running around and comes when called. He is really great at place and touch too which is great when he gets excited and needs to calm down. Jake and Jess did a nice job teaching us how to continue the training and have been great following up and answering any questions we have. Our dog will be going back for more training as he gets older that’s for sure!

I can’t recommend them enough! I had a list of problems and I needed a professional trainers help. My German Shepard was another dog after his 2 week board and train program. His manners are better and the best part the control I’ve never had before. Thank you for everything you taught him and me. The best training and boarding I will forever stay in contact with.

Willow

Divinity K9 is phenomenal. I called them when my German Shepard puppy was about 9 weeks old, overwhelmed by all the puppy antics I was not prepared for. They were able to guide me over the phone, then meet with me in person. They provided me with a clicker and taught me so much just within a few hours on how to train her. I also signed up for their board and train program. Instead of doing the two weeks, I opted for the three week off leash program.

Willow went from this exhausting dog who I loved so much, to my best friend who I enjoy every second I spend with her. They taught her so much that I could never within only three weeks. She is also way more reliable around the house and I am comfortable with her off leash around my neighborhood as well.

Doing the board and train was 100% worth it. Divinity K9 is the best thing that’s happened to my pup.

Look at these awesome pictures they took of her!

I would highly recommend these guys. We were thrilled with our experience. They are highly knowledgeable and thorough. While guiding us through the continuation of training at home after the program they gave us the knowledge, tools and confidence to make our home happier and have been quick to respond with questions I have had. Thanks Divinity K9 you guys are the best

Hamish

Hamish went to Jake and Jessica for the board and train program they offer. I had two young children and not enough time necessary to focus on his training. They were incredible! When Hamish came back to us, he had the foundation built and we continued to build on it! He absolutely adores them and every time we use their boarding services (offered to previous clients), he is THRILLED to see them and they are thrilled to see him too. I love my dogs and only want the best for them. Jake and Jessica from the start made me feel comfortable, walked me through their process and philosophy and made Hamish feel at ease too. I wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again and would highly recommend them to my friends!

Lucy

We are so grateful for Jake and Jess. They did an amazing job working with our Lucy. They kept our sweet pup for a three week board and train (we missed her terribly) but they took such good care of her! We were kept informed of her progress and were sent photos when we needed to see her face. They have unbelievable skill, talent, and knowledges when it comes to this line of work. The time spent to help us interact with her at the end of her training was methodical, hands on, and well thought out. Our girl came back to us happy, healthy, and eager to continue working towards the goals we have for her. I would recommend their services for anyone wanting or needing to have their dog trained!

Duchess

We sent our 8 month old Basset hound puppy to Divinity K9 for their 2 week board and train program. We are going to be sending her again for another week for off leash/e-collar training. Before she (the puppy) went to the board and train, I was losing my mind with her whining, bad house manners, not being potty trained, separation anxiety and general annoyingness. After spending time with Jake and Jess, she came back MUCH better. She has learned a lot of commands and listens/obeys so much better. Almost as valuable as the dog getting trained, we received training as owners. We now know what to do (mostly) and have tools to use to help maintain better behavior from the dog. We also were alerted to the fact that our dog has major separation anxiety, and were able to get medication for her. Jake and Jess had to put up with a lot with our dog - the worst case of kennel barking/whining they've ever had. My only suggestion for improvement is that I would have liked more frequent updates and pictures/videos; when we dropped her off we were told we'd get updates every 1-3 days but we didn't get that many. I know they are busy so I understand. I also didn't want to bother them by keeping on asking for updates. Overall, though, I highly recommend Divinity K9!

Lola

I was hesitant about what could be done in 2 weeks, they made a believer out of me! I cannot say thank you enough for the time and work they put into making our dog such a well behaved puppy!! I whole heartedly believe she actually had a good time and absolutely loved the staff who trained her!! I'm so grateful!! I was so nervous sending our girl off with people we didn't personally know as we've never had a dog trained or boarded before and I was very unsure and uneasy of everything. We got a report card with pictures and she just looked so happy and really bonded with the trainers!! They brought her home and I wasn't sure she wasn't going to try and sneak into the car and leave with them again 🤣 She loved them that much!! They brought her back and taught us how to work with her and what they taught her that was really important to me and this made my life SO much easier!! IF we ever HAD to board them this is the only company we would ever consider. My dogs are my life and mean everything to me and I trust Divinity K-9! They also use treats made locally to train with so they support local businesses too!! Now that our girl is home and we saw how amazing they are I let my friends and family know how impressed I am!

Sampson & Delilah

Finding Divinity K9 was like an answer to prayer! We have 2 German Shepherds (at the time were 18mo & 6mo) and we were over our heads! Research says it takes 4-6,000 repetitions for a command to become habit and my ability to work with them only gave them 20-30 repetitions a day, if we got to it, as we also have 4 kids who are 7yrs old and under. I knew this was gonna be a LONG ROAD! Our older male was still constantly barking when alone outside, pulling on his leash wherever we would take him, aggressive towards other dogs and it was getting stronger, not mindful of our children, and would bolt from our property when off leash unless he had his favorite frisbee and we were actively engaging him. Our younger female was taking cues from the older and I could tell I was not winning in my leading/training. The Board and Train track that Divinity K9 offers was exactly what we were needing! We went on vacation and our dogs went to work!

There is no miracle pill, but Jake and Jessica loved on our dogs and did the intentional work of training them over and over and over and over again! When our dogs returned from their Board and Training school, we saw that all those repetitions over an intense few weeks allowed our dogs to lock commands into habits and created a whole new respect and response to our leading them.

I didn’t write a review right away because I wanted to see how the transition back to home would go and how it would be for me to implement these new tools. It has been almost 3 months now, and our dogs are continuing their respect & responses, we have been equipped with tools that empowered us to reinforce and even take it further if we desire, and if we are not sure how to maneuver something, Jake and Jessica have made themselves available to guide and give tips. They even include a free refresher lesson if needed a few weeks after the school.

Now 3 months later, our 22mo old baby girl (who adores our dogs) could hold our older adrenaline-driven male’s leash and walk him while we had his e-collar in place and he peacefully walked alongside of her (and we were at a public park!). I was gardening the other day and he was off leash with me when another large black lab came onto our property (inside our fence!). Our male barked at him and gave him a little nip, but when we called him he responded and we didn’t have his leash or the e-collar working, he just responded. These are HUGE wins for us and a total game changer for us having dogs integrate into our lifestyle as a young family. It is definitely an investment, and we still are doing our part to keep working with our dogs, but it was well worth it to have our dogs more respectful & responsive and us more equipped so our home could run more peacefully for the long haul! We are beyond grateful! Thank you, Divinity K9!

Blue

Jake and Jessica really know their stuff. My boy came out of a 2 week board and train a whole new man! We would not be able to do the things we do with him now without their help. I recommend Divinity K9 to everyone I know!!

I appreciated the frequent updates and progress our rescue pup Ruby made while in their care. It provided us with a good platform to continue her training so she could be a normal part of our family.

Fantastic experience! Jake and Jessica are very trust worthy and guarantee results with your pup! Took my Dalmatian, Milo, and his recall for walks is amazing! Highly recommend!

This company goes above and beyond to trian your dog and build a lasting connection! I would recommend this company to anyone with any breed and I will definitely use them for any dogs I get in the future!

Bane

After aggression incidents at the vet and at home, training was our last option for our adopted dog. Divinity K9 brought things full circle in our house, and we are happy to have our dog in our home with us. They have clearly dedicated their selves to their passion and are great at what they do

Fenway

Our dog Fenway came back a new guy! He’s a rescue so he has some quirks, but when he came back from
His 3 week board and train we could tell
His confidence was up and his listen was so much better. Fenway has issues with other dogs and they gave us some tools to work on proper interactions. We are very happy

Bella

Jake and Jessica have been Great with our Bella a 6 month old poodle .. She was a baby 3 months when she first whet for 2 weeks to stay with them for training ..
I was a wreck LOL Jake said to me when leaving with her now dont call the police on me, if I dont get beck to you in an Hour LOL ..
It was hard to let her go with someone I didn't really know .. But I have to say they went above and beyond to make me feel ok with it .. they kept in close contact with me and sent me pics of Bella Every night I so Appreciated that .
Im older and Old school with dog training , so I have had to be trained as much as Bella .. I'm betting there is times Jake wishes he could have put an E collar on me LOL
But they have stuck with us and have been back a couple of times to our home to make sure we are doing OK . They have worked with Bella and us .. She is doing very well ..
I honestly can say if I had to do this again with these 2 , I would ..
So to anyone having second thoughts of trusting them with your fur Baby .. Take it from me they can be trusted with your Loved One !!

Gibbs

Our German Shepherd Gibbs just returned home from a 3 week board and train. We are so amazed at what they have done with him in such a short period of time. Gibbs fears were prohibiting him from enjoying simple things like taking a walk. He now walks like a champ. He's able to go in the yard and not run back into the house because of sounds he might hear. But the most important part is Jessica and Jake gave us the tools needed to continue with Gibbs journey to success in every situation. Highly recommend them.

Mako

Our Siberian Husky, Mako, attended Divinity K9's two-week board and train. Being a husky, Mako of course LOVES to pull on walks and that was one of the main areas of focus for us, in addition to recall, place, and overall improvement with basic obedience. Mako thrived with Jake and Jessica. It was very reassuring that Mako was made part of their family during his stay, and we greatly appreciated the daily updates, photos, and videos. Upon his return home, Mako walked better on a leash, he was much more responsive to his name, and he had learned the place command, a valuable tool for us. However, when things started to slip and we struggled to get back on track, Jake and Jessica came right back out to our home and worked with us and helped to tailor the training to best suit us. We look forward to continuing to work with Mako on all he has learned. Thank you Divinity K9!

Daisy

Jake and Jess were very in depth when it came to working on some aggression and anxiety issues with our beagle mix pup. After a 2 week board and train program Daisy Mae is more responsive to commands and how she’s acts around people. She has calmed down quite a bit since her board and train. If your looking for a program for you dog I highly recommend Divinity K9. You will not be disappointed.

Ghost

If you're reading this, it probably means you're considering training your dog with Divinity K9.. Take this as your sign to GO FOR IT!!
The ratings and reviews they have acquired from others speak volumes on their expertise, and I promise you won't find a single negative remark (I definitely did my research before signing up)
As others state, the daily report cards that include a beautiful array of photos, videos, and lesson notes are wonderful - but being able to see your dogs progression in each one provides a fulfillment you won't understand until you're looking at them.
I had a ton of anxiety before placing my dog, he is a rescue with MANY issues that needed working through - with absolutely 0 training previously + his aggression, I was terrified that he'd bite them (he did) and end up being "too much" to handle (he wasn't) - they were excited at the challenge and happy to help him become the best dog he can be.
He doesn't warm up to strangers easily, but a couple days into his B&T he was in Jessica's lap giving her kisses - despite all of his aggression and low bite inhibition they still loved and cared for him as if he was their own.
Handing a member of your family over, however temporary, is always difficult, but going with Jessica & Jake is 110% the right decision to make - your dog couldn't be in better hands!

George

Our George (65lb Golden Retriever) was such a handful and his behavior was really a problem for our family before his board and train with Jessica and Jake, but since he’s been home, he’s practically a new dog! He is calm and behaved in the house, we no longer have to crate him if we can’t be fully engaged with him, he walks nicely on a leash without pulling, he’s learning what is acceptable behavior in our yard (no digging holes, no eating wood chips). This has been amazing for George and our whole family. We are so pleased! 100% worth every penny! Thank you!

—Katie B

Burt

Our 6 month old Bernedoodle, Burt went to their 2 week board and train program. Hes been home about 10 days and it feels like we have a new dog. He is much calmer, i can walk him without being pulled the whole time, he no longer eats our toilet paper rolls!!! They laid a great foundation of training for our dog but I know it will be up to us to continue to build upon this foundation...he is still a pup after all. The daily report cards were amazing to get especially when you are missing your puppy so much. I plan on using Jessica and Nate again in the near future for boarding!!! Thanks again!

Haru

I recently signed up my 12 weeks old Aussie for Divinity K9’s Puppy Board and Train Program and boy was it a superb experience! From the initial consultation to the daily reports and owner education, Jessica and Jake provided first-class communication and services. I can tell they take extreme pride in what they do and care for my puppy like she was their own. Haru was far from perfect for she is still a puppy, but she came back to us with better manners and now knows some obedience commands! I was immensely impressed with the thorough education on the owner’s part in order to continue her training at home as well as reinforce what she have been taught during her time with Divinity K9. Even after the program was over, Jake messaged and called me to check in on how Haru was doing after coming home, giving me tips and reassurances on any questions and concerns that I had. I highly recommend Divinity K9 for all your puppy/dog training needs! There are no such thing as bad dogs, they just need knowledgeable, professional, and caring trainers like Jessica and Jake to help guide them be the best companions that we wish them to be.

Ruby

I truly can't say enough positive things about our experience with Jess and Jake and Divinity K9. From our very first interaction I could tell that this is not just a job for either of them, but a true passion and labor of love. They put in far more hours than I would have hoped for as they trained and loved on our puppy. I honestly don't know how they rest at all! They took our Ruby to stores and to Downtown Ann Arbor to gain confidence, and experience new sights and sounds. The pictures Jess takes are remarkable and getting them (and videos!) every night was so special! I also appreciate they they use top-notch supplies and materials in their training. On top of it all, they don't just hand over your pup after 2 weeks and call it good. They spend hours with you going over all the information and having you practice with their feedback and tips. Throughout this whole process I've had a lot of questions for Jess and she is SO patient in answering them all! As you can tell, I could go on and on and how positive the experience was. But to sum it up- I feel like we won the lottery in finding Divinity K9 to train our furry family member!

Ruby

We are so very pleased with our experience with Divinity K9! They exceeded our expectations for their board and train program for our 10 month old Australian Shepherd, Ruby. The biggest concern I had going in was how would Ruby respond to the e-collar. Would it make her nervous or anxious? I am so happy to say that she shows absolutely no signs of stress or fear or nervousness about the collar. She hated her harness before going, so I know how she could show me if she didn’t like the collar. Absolutely fine putting it on her! For those that are black and white about the use of e-collars, I thought I was as well, but this collar is MUCH different than the collars I have ever known (invisible fence, pet safe etc). The sensation is more like a tens unit (something that massages and stimulates muscles). The levels are so subtle that when out in our hand, my daughter and I could feel nothing until it reached 10, my husband could feel nothing until it reached 30! And what we did feel did not hurt. Ruby is around a 10, and they have dogs that respond to a 2!
My other concern going in was being away from her for two weeks. I felt such peace the whole time. Jessica and Jake communicated so well with us every evening telling us what they worked on and taking rather exquisite pictures and videos of her training, including it in a report card with a link to access. They were great at the drop off, able to soak in all the little feeding directions I had forgotten to put on the intake form. They took seriously what I needed from the training. One of Ruby’s issues was touching metal with her paws. She has shown aversion to metal at the vet, in the tub getting groomed etc. They purposely exposed her and allowed her to work through her issues with metal so she is much less sensitive to it, going to Ann Arbor and having her place on a metal bench, touching a hydrant, jumping up on a metal rolling shelf at Home Depot, and so many more examples (metal fence, bike rack, sewer cover etc). They bathed her a few times AND even trimmed her nails!
They spent such quality time with us at the end training US how to continue what they started. Ruby showed she clearly loved them, even in front of us. I feel like Jessica and Jake are now an extended part of the family!
I never felt like there was any focus on the money part of the training. So much was included that has no comparison in cost anywhere. I would spend the same in a heart beat. Absolutely no regrets!
Ruby has learned place, touch, out (all new commands) sit and down have been refined to imply stay, and she actually stays, even with distractions! Heel is practically perfect, and recall is also so much better.
We are also grateful that they were willing to take her in around the holidays while we were already traveling. They are so devoted to what they do. True professionals!
We are committed to continuing the training at home so she can keep strong what work Jessica and Jake put into her as well as build on it. We left today feeling like we have a continuing partnership that we can lean on them to help us be as successful as possible.
I have zero hesitation recommending Divinity K9 and Jake and Jessica to anyone. We are proud to have made this decision..

Abe

Just got our 7 month old pup back from Jake and Jessica. They did an excellent job communicating with us every day and answering questions along the way. Our pup is so much more centered and calm than he was when he left. They did fantastic work with him and are easy to work with outside board and train as well.

—Katie O

Mabel

Divinity K9 had the newest member of our family (Miss Mabel a Portuguese Water Dog) for a 2 week board and train session. At the time, Mabel was 13 weeks old. They were fantastic with the daily "report cards" in fact, it became a family event each night to receive the "report card" and read how our Miss Mabel was doing. The pictures and videos were terrific too! We knew the training wasn't just for Mabel rather ourselves too. They took plenty of time to walk us through the training they did with Mabel and trained us on the proper commands and other techniques. She's still a puppy but we have seen a tremendous difference in her already. We were VERY pleased with Divinity K9 in fact, we are already planning to take Mabel back for more training with Divinity K9 once she's older.

—Chad E

Rey

We recently enrolled our 7 month old Aussiedoodle Rey in the Board and Train program. We are SO happy with the results. She no longer pulls when we walk, stays on “place” while we eat dinner, and comes when we call her. Rey is still very much her goofy self, but is just so much more responsive and in tune with us when we ask her to do something. The trainers met with us for a long time when they returned her to us to make sure we felt comfortable with all of her training so that we can continue reinforcing everything. They were so helpful throughout the whole process. I would recommend Divinity K9 to anyone looking to help their dog advance in their training. It was a wonderful experience!

—Michaela F

Braxton

They taught my puppy basic manners that will take him a long way. We're already on day 2 with pup being back at home and his listening has been impeccably. They were professional the entire time, and it's clear they know what they're doing. I highly recommend

—Kristen J

Moose

What a phenomenal experience! Divinity K9 was a Godsend. They took on our 8 month old Sheepadoodle Moose, a very energetic puppy that we trained all on our on in quarantine, and gave us the tools to turn him into a realistically great dog. We needed help because we were bringing a newborn home and Moose had a couple bad habits we had to manage for safety and sanity's sake. They were extremely communicative and professional and had a beautiful balanced approach to dog training. Most importantly, the follow-up has been excellent; we were encouraged warmly to ask for help. We highly recommend this team!
